SCM is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all its Team Members, customers, suppliers, and the general public.  Safety is everyone’s responsibility;  it rests with each individual Team Member and all levels of management.  We have Job Safe Practices (JSP’s) that inform us about key safety practices such as safe Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation, pedestrian walkway use, surroundings awareness, etc.  We have identified steps we can all take in the process of being responsible for safety:

Safety Training:
We instruct, train and inform staff of safe work practices and procedures.  In fact, we want to make sure that everyone at SCM has the safety knowledge and skills they need to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them.
Safety through Prevention:
SCM is committed to taking every reasonable precaution to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.  Safety through prevention practices, like good housekeeping, reduce the likelihood of accidents and protect you and the safety of those around you.
Safety Compliance:
We comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, its regulations, and with the SCM Health and Safety Policies.  The SCM Health and Safety Policy meets and in some cases exceeds the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
